I have a Digital Camera, with a macro, but it still sucks on close-ups on coins and jewelry. So I've been thinking. I recently bought a large magnifying glass(loupa if you will). If you took a
coffee can and lined the bottom with a white piece of felt, then cut a piece of plexi-glass and placed it about 1/2 way up in the can, then around the top of the can,hot-melt-glue 3 small DC lights evenly spaced around the inside. A hole could be drilled through the can for the wires.
After you do all of this, cut a hole in the plastic top of the coffee can just large enough that your Mag. glass will not fall in. Then put your coin on the plexi-glass and take the picture with your camera.
Would putting the lights in between the Mag. glass and the coin cut out glare on the Mag. Glass ??????

This is a Gold Nugget Pendant I found last year. I took this pict. with my new invention.
