The best price on gasoline we found was 1.129 BPS (British pound sterling) per litre ..... that equates to $8.56 per U.S. gallon. That's the reason almost every car you see has manual transmission and is very small. This Vauxhall Astra is considered an intermediate size car.

Here is the "boot" (trunk) loaded with all our detecting gear just before we began to pack up for our return and clean up the car. Please note the green wellies (rubber boots) were used as the fashion police won't allow white boots after July.

We took this little front wheel drive car in places it should not have been taken. you can't really see in the first photo but the car was caked in mud in the front grill, the wheel wells and the boot floor ... we placed trash bags on the front seat floors so that they wouldn't be too difficult to clean.
Here is the B&B where we stayed the first two nights. It was raining and no fields had crops out so we had to detect some small meadows. Found some George II and III coins and some trash.
I had a room that was rather "period" and manly. Keith had a room all done out in pink. I saw Keith the next morning walking to the "loo" (bathroom) wearing a pink bathrobe. He looked like an old bearded Energizer Bunny! Man did I have fun ribbing him about his cute little pink robe.
