Can you detect wet beach with this detector? My son is beach hunting for the first time with this older Garrett and I would like to find out if it will work on both wet or dry beach. Thanks
 
Like many detectors that does not have manual ground balancing, only fixed, probably not very good in the wet salt sand.
In dry salt sand should be OK. Only way to find out for sure is to take the GTA500 with you next time you visit the beach.
