I was wondering, has anybody ever used, or owned a Ultrasonic Cleaner? I'm thinking of getting one, ebay has this one for about $40. Does it work, is it worth it? I was out detecting today, and finally "dug up" (not just surface hunting anymore) a few modern coins, and they are in terrible shape. I don't think a bank will take them. I washed them in warm water, but its caked on, not just mud, but like calcium or something. If this is going to be the norm. I need a way to clean my finds.
Maybe not this speecific model, but if I do get one I want to keep it around $40 - $50.

What do you use in the tumbler to clean coins, would BB's work??? You know I think I remember reading somewhere that if you tumble coins to do pennies separately, and all the clad and nickles together, any truth to that??? Something about the copper wears off the penny and turns all of the change copper plated, or something like that...
