This was about 7 hours total in the same spot 2 in one day.
Some of these coins were on the surface in between the rocks!
My 3 halves were all just under rocks joe found his old n the water one was a 1874S which had a mintage of 380k.and a walker and a barber also.
I also found the sterling bracelet with kids holding hands.
Well we dug old pocketknives musket ball pieces of pipe brass screws nail tiny pieces of copper.
Iron galore in the hole with lots of these coins you can see the rust stains on some.
Lots of old fishing sinkers wheat pennies only one Indian joe dug 1865 we never knew what was under the rocks just great hunts one I won’t forget and I’ll be continuing to go back with all these old coins I’m hoping another gold coin will show up ! Or some gold rings with the 3 trips there we have found over 40 silver coins 6 are halves.

Thanks everyone it’s so rewarding to hit a spot that has been untouched to see a barber quarter laying between two rocks at low tide blew me away!’
I had invited my friend Joe along who’s a avid water hunter and he also did well he got my white whale the seared half!
I’m sure there will be many trips to this spot and many more along the river I may even film some hunts to share ..And if you have any rivers near you check them out for old swimming areas this area used to be a one .

Nice group of coins. The site must have been a long term used area. The Half Reale doesn't seem to fit the time frame. Maybe it was lost under a different circumstance. Nice hunting !
