Uncle Willie - My best buddy bout got ate!!!!

Yea, never know what you will run into. Also, people keep encroaching on their
territory which also makes for more sightings.
I'd like to mount a critter cam up at my OK place. But I never seem to get around
to it. I've been looking at various models, and hard to decide what to get.
Some of the newer ones are pretty neat and can do video as well as stills.
I saw a bird that looked like a parrot one spring up there in OK. It was one of
those green tropical parrot looking birds, and was sitting up in a tree near
my front gate. In fact, I think I took video of him tweeting, but he's kinda hard
to see in the green tree.
There are loads of birds that fly through there in the spring, and probably fall
too. Tons of red cardinals in the spring. I saw a big pheasant up there last
year.
Lots of deer, rabbits, etc.. I was walking along the dirt road that fronts my
property a couple of years ago, and was "shadowed" by something
paralleling me in the woods. I never could see it, but I could hear it cracking
brush as it walking along side of me. Could have been a deer, hog, canine,
who knows.. :/ Maybe even bigfoot... Chortle.. :yikes:
It was seeing that cat, and also the dog pack that ran through that made me
decide to pack a weapon when I go up there. When I first bought the place,
I usually didn't take anything. But that changed pretty quick.
At night, I'm usually camping out there by myself. If I had any trouble, no one
would be able to hear me if I started hollering.
This is all pretty heavily wooded forest type land.
One thing interesting.. The black panthers seem to like forested areas.
Maybe that's why they hang around the area. It's the perfect habitat for them,
and plenty of game to eat.
I bet I would see some interesting varmints if I put a critter cam up. I could
mount one up in my "camp" oak tree, and get a pretty good view.

I've got about 3/4-1 acre pretty much cleared out, but the rest is all woods.
That tree area is where I usually hang out, Bar-b-q, etc.. That bench the red
grill is on is made from three flat natural rocks. The last time I was there
I had a couple of possums visit me about midnight or so. They were scrounging
around my tin cans look for grub particles. I kept shining the light on their yellow
beady eyeballs, and one came right up to my car window to check me out.
BTW, that is the oak tree that the dog pack ran around and made a u-turn
at.
oh yea, I remembered that I had taken video of the place I saw the cat.
This is exactly where I saw it.. Ignore the psycho babbling in the background.. :/

What ever happened to H&R.
Bill

Back in the 70's when I used to fox hunt at night, I got tired of my 20g not haveing enough to drop all the fox I called in. So I went out and bought a H&R single shot 10g....Man after that not one fox every got away from me. 3-1/2" mags filled with bb size shot will kick some fox arses....Back then a box of 10g 3-1/2 mag shells cost $25...wonder what they are now. Never had any coyotes around my area in Indiana back then, nowdays they are all over. Ran allot of the fox out.

man I miss those days. Had many a fox come in behind me growling and mad as hell on that GF pup call. They would almost be ontop me before I spoted them. Heard them before I seen them.
