Under the old Acadian

Got access to underneath the circa 1820 residence yesterday. What a workout walking on your elbows. Didn't cover much but got a few finds. Still need to adjust my E-TRAC to those conditions (used my 6X8 SEF coil). Definitely doing it again. First pic shows what I believe is a portion of a butt plate to a musket rifle (copper or bronze). 2nd pic shows the reverse with a long section showing a design pattern. Someone cut it in half for some reason. I'm going to give it a few days before I put it in the "What's It" section. Let me know what you think it is. 3rd pic shows a bras handle and what looks like a broken portion of a pair of copper or brass scissors. Third pic shows camp lead (under the house?) and a dropped musket ball (small size). The 4th pic shows 2 wheat's and 2 memorials (1944 and not sure of the other wheat, the mud is like cement). The last pic is SILVER! A squashed thimble with a neat design. Thought it was a belt tip until I got it home.

Good luck at your sites!

Under the house. It has 2 doors in the floor for access. It was built about 2 1/2 feet above ground. No basements over here. Sorry about the confusion.

Now THAT'S dedication Ken! Any neat and interesting "critters" come out to meet ya?

Thanks for the pictures.

I've hunted the yard ( about 6 acres worth) for about 10 years now. Had some awesome finds there. As for critters, a cat, large rat, and spiders.
I'll try to get some pics next time.
