Unknown shine in a pebble?

Hi newbie here we just put some rocks/pebbles down in the front garden and whilst walking past them I noticed something shiny I'm wondering if it's fools gold or something similar it's very small but pretty thanks Russ.

Does it flake off in thin sheets? That would indicate mica. If not it could be iron pyrite. The host rock looks more like it could be iron pyrite but hard to tell from photo.
