Unstable

Look on page 21 and 22 of your manual for restoring a program. For the chrip, look at the troubleshooting section (page 43 and 44) of the manual. I could type out what to do, but it's easier just to refer you there.
 
For the chirping; If you are in fairly stable ground set ground balance on tracking mode see page 18. See page 39 to adjust silencer to 3 or 4. Lower your sensitivity level. Also put your iron volume on 0 see page 12. This may help.

P S When the tip of the coil gets close to a larger piece of iron you will get a semi good signal, or chirp. When you hear this check another 5 to 12 inches in front of the coil to see if it changes to a solid iron signal and the chirp disappears. Look on the left side of the horse shoe on the left side of the screen to check the iron signal. You won
