Unusual class ring found!!

New member
A week or so ago while metal detecting I found a class ring that a tree root had grown through. The ring is from 1937, and I have left everything intact. This is currently listed on ebay. I have been contacted by Ripleys Believe It or Not about this who wish to purchase it and put in one of their museums. Many people have said it looks like a finger instead of a tree root. What do you think?

Hombre

I found a 1938 class ring and returned it to the widower, that made the front page of my local newspaper.

I had considered that, but there are no markings on the outside of the ring and I would have to cut the root to get the ring off and even after that there might be no markings on the inside. The uniqueness of it would then be lost.

Hey Chris
I understand that, you did the right thing by leaving it intact, and the initials are on the inside, almost allways.

I wonder what kind of wild spin Ripleys would tag it with LOL

What ever it goes for on ebay is what it goes for. I contacted ripley's to let them know it was on ebay.
