Unusual Finds

My wife just came home from detecting with my (oops our) Silver uMax and was showing me a couple of things she found. I haven't checked it out yet but she says the rock makes the detector beep when moving the coil over it. I have no idea what it could be, it is very very light weight. The coin is a Mexican coin and says $100.00 on the front, it is gold colored. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about these finds. The picture is the back of the coin. Sorry for the pictures not being very good. Thanks! Steve.

I found the $1000 peso coin in the photo a few years ago and thought I had a good one, but found out that in 1992 Mexico changed their coinage and made prior coins virtually worthless. The $1000 old peso coins like mine are worth about $1 in the new pesos. 10 pesos is about one dollar in American money so that means my $1000 coin is worth about a dime and your $100 coin about a penny :(.

Thanks JB, I was almost ready to order me a Mercedes-Benz, looks like I will have to hold off. Steve.

Hay SkiWhiz,

I found one of those mexican Gold colroed coins. I didn't know what it was.

But I didn't get my hopes up too much. Not after all the hart puonders I've

pulled out of the ground.

That other may be melted aluminum. ( alien rock )

HH,

The rock could be a "hot rock"? They can and do cause a detector to beep.

Good job on the pesso, Beale.

The rock looks meteor. that is the smoothed out bumps. does it feel unusually heavy?
anyways meteor`s contain nickle and iron and cause a signal.
