unusual ww2 era finds

longbone

Found an old foundation on lake shore it was loaded with broken glass and rusted iron .All signals were showing iron but some were mixed these were the ones I dug. I also removed overload signals when I could. Started finding wheat pennies,
then a flattened silver ring next a large British penny, a shilling ,a half crown a small copper bird and best of all a ww2 gunners pin. Most fun day for a long while. I used an 11 inch DD coil, going back with my 5 inch DD and see what I missed.

Good going. It's hard to decipher the signals with all that iron. I'm sure there are still some targets that are masked.

Yes I'm going back for sure . I like to think that these coins were souvenirs brought back by this Army Air Corps Gunner from his time in England . It's sad that his Gunners pin and coins weren't treasured and kept by his family . I feel honored to be able to save them and will try to find who they belonged to.
