warthog

..It turns out he has his tear ducts blocked, and doesnt produce any tears...We got a bunch of med's for him(Has anybody ever put eye-drops or ointment in a dog's eyes???NOT a fun time, especially since they are already inflamed);and he is eating. The vet took a bunch of blood tests, and said he is in pretty good shape except for the eye problem.

with a dog or cat is to wrap him in a heavy jacket and hold him when the drops are put it. Thay way they wont scratch you.

And for you guys in Mich = the hard part down here is to find a heavy jacket :) Steve in so az

Sherry was a vet tech - she has done it many times. I don't know what or how she did it. I will ask her to get on the forum and give some advice. Probably won't be til later tomorrow since it 1 AM and she wants to go to bed and sleep in until ???? since she doesn't work on Saturday.

Cat's are fairly easy... just wrap them up in a big towel with their head sticking out. Or, with a dog, you can "sit" on them and hold their head still between your legs. (depending on the size of the dog)

I thought it was going to be worse! My prayers were answered! :)

I wear shorts all winter!
We call them coats! :)
Jackets are for spring and fall!

btw we think we will be losing our doberman...changes in his appetite, mood, sociability, etc. make us feel he is not long for this world. Sherry and I agreed if he is found to have cancer and has only 6 months to live we would rather he not have to suffer for 6 months just to prolong our enjoyment of having him here.

We just have to wait to get him to a vet since we now have more unexpected bills than we can handle. Just hoping we can get him in soon and he does not get uncontrollable. He snapped at both Sherry and I on different occassions...not normal for him at all.

yellow jackets - they prefer summer.
