Update 3.1 vs 2. performance question.

Dan(NM)

Well-known member
If I'm not planning on using the high frequency coil, does the 3.1 update offer any advantages over 2. I have a used D2 coming that's preloaded with 3.1. I'm not a fan of pitch audio, I prefer a modified 5 tone. Thanks for any info.

New Update Available – DEUS II V3.1!

We’ve just released version 3.1 of the XP DEUS II software — continuing to enhance your detecting experience with improved performance and new features:

GOLDFIELD Program Optimized (for gold prospecting):

• Increased sensitivity to small gold (down to 0.01g!)

• More dynamic audio feedback

• Improved ground handling and more accurate GRAB

Tips for use

New “PITCH 2” Audio Tone Added:

This new tone improves signal clarity on deep or small targets and helps reduce ground noise — now available in all programs!

Bug Fixes:

- Corrects FE T.ID bug in the MONO program

- Faster T.ID display in Multi-frequency programs

- Various additional fixes

Reminder: If you haven’t already installed version 3.0, you’re missing out on some powerful features:

Compatibility with the new HF2 coil

Negative Silencer values to better detect targets near iron

More reactive T.ID and improved target separation

Ground/IRON Break setting for enhanced iron audio control

+ “PULSE” audio mode for the Xtrem Hunter

As always, the update is free and available via the XP Update Tool

So, V3.1 is an improved version of V2.0 and works with all available Deus 2 coils and the Xtrem Hunter.
You are not forced to use Pitch or Pitch 2 audio except in the Goldfield and Relic programs. Pitch has always been the only option for those two programs.
Pitch audio on Deus 2 is not my favorite thing either but at least I can choose between Pitch or Pitch 2 in the PWM, Square or Hi-Square theme options.

I've been using a V3 beta or V3.1 software for many months. I have had no issues using with it for the original FMF coils.
If you happen to do any micro jewelry hunting, using a program like Sensitive with Pitch 2 Hi-Square audio has been really good for that kind of hunting using the original 9" or 11" coil from my experience.

Took a long time to get the D2 to run 'almost' quiet on my beaches. Yes, Minilab's are the best for salt water.
However, after 25 years of swinging heavy Minelabs, the D2 is a joy and my go to machine. I just bought a 900
as a backup unit. I took it to FL and wish I took the D2. I'm stuck in FL for a long time and want my D2 !!!!:cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2:

The manticore with the 9” is my preferred setup I actually weighed it 2.8lb exactly what my D2 weighs with the 9” so they’re both lightweight now

Why the big weight difference between the D1 and D2. with 9" coils ? My D1 with 9" coil only weighs about 2 lbs.

I was comparing apples with oranges... the D2 vs the Equinox 900. Im using the 11" coils on both.
I wear the D2 remote on a lanyard around my neck.
