Update , F75LTD Looses the display

Shooter, it seems that it took a lot of effort on your part to get it across that your display is messed up,

My F75 LTD while detecting the screen goes blank with the exception of the Batt.

And it proves again that a picture is worth a thousand words!

It looks to me as it sounded,
Broken!
Confused Electronics! ("Dave_J" didn't say anything about a way or a process to reset it either ?)
Brain dead display driver!

Sounds like a description of an F75 display doing what it's supposed to do, which is to stop displaying information that's no longer valid. Battery condition display is always valid and therefore doesn't blank out.

I saw a post where someone was thinking that the machine was going into some kind of sleep mode. Nope, this is just about the display, the machine keeps looking for targets and for user interface activity and when there's something new to display the new information pops up on the screen.

Glad the pictures helped, when you said blank screen you really meant blank screen. I could see how FT could miss understand blank screen because it does have a blank screen.

Now all you need to do is send FT the pictures and you should have your F75 back in time to kick off the 2012 hunting season.

Now that I got her loaded up with batteries I may take her for a walk in the park today and see if she can sniff out some gold.

Let us know how this turns out.

Talking to Felix today to see if they found out anything on the display problem and the only thing he know was they were going to test it so I'll have to wait to hear from them. Wonder how they test that.

First of all as a rep for Fisher I can't believe you can talk to someone on the phone the way you did and can't even believe you could post such a demeaning post on the website. To make a comment that I'm trying to scam you for a new unit is absurd, the comment about a replacement was made, that after four time back to the shop why don't they just replace it for cost effectiveness and Felix said NO, and I'm not " detector hypochondriac" I know what I saw, did your tech try to reproduce what I told them, I don't no Frank said it wouldn't do it but he also kept fooling with the settings, I kept telling him don't do anything, and Yes the pic was edited by me in photoshop with the ok from your tech Daniel so he could see what it looked like by reply to his E-mail with the pic's he sent me and never heard back from him. and he said that would be great so I posted it. Why would I waste the techs time and mine being without a detector if I didn't think there was a problem, that's totally INSANE and would you like to call me that also, beside having a"sight problem" and a "detector hypochondriac", and a "SCAMMER". And as for doing " deranged practical jokes" as you put not my style, but it might just be in your ballpark.

I have never tried to defraud or miss represent any of the Fisher detectors I own 6 and there the best, and I have always talked super highly of YOU and Felix and the rest of the repair tech's, as you and Felix can remember the letters I sent to you supervisor. Would you like a copy again better yet maybe I'll post it. The next time it happens or if it happens I'll get it on film.

I missed the part about it not supposedly being a picture of the unit he posted-it wasn't very clear to me and others that it WAS in fact photo shopped. I tried not to seem to harsh-I brought this issue to the Fisher techs, engineers, repair department and QC manager and we all spent time on it today. Even looked at internal parts used to assemble the units. This is what the tech people say-----All confirm its impossible-its like saying the ink print on my daily newspaper keeps disappearing and reappearing.
Mistakes happen-maybe polarized glasses, poor eyesight or sunlight glare or ?
Fact is even if we tried we can not make a unit do that or even build a unit like that and if the screen was in fact blank it couldn't just reappear.

Somthing doesnt add up.......

And I asked Felix being its been back four times why don't they just replace it, it seem it would be more cost effective. Felix said no they won't do that and I said OK, so where are you getting your info from does that sound like I'm Calling the LEMON LAW a demanding a replacement, maybe someone over there is editing the words.

And a far as you saying you didn't know about the Photoshopped pic it's right in the above PM I sent you.
