Update on Brian and the surgery...

Pete in MI

New member
Recovering from surgery.
Posted 7 minutes ago
They got Brian in for surgery at around 2pm. We got back in the room about 9pm CST. They did not locate any bleeders but did notice that there was excessive blood vessels on the right side of his jaw so they blocked those in the hope that it will slow down the growth of those tumors. He has to lay flat on his back for 6 hours from the end of the surgery, 5:30pm, so the incision in the artery in his groin can heal. At 11:30pm we can elevate his upper torso gradually until he can sit up comfortably. We are in for a long night.

There were several areas in his mouth that are very fragile and that start bleeding with just a light touch so they have taken him off of solid foods until that issue can be addressed.

They have scheduled a surgery for tomorrow morning at around 11am to put a feeding tube in his stomach to let the mouth heal. Because Brian hasn't been able to eat solid foods for close to 4 weeks he has become very malnourished.

If all goes well we may be able to bring him home Friday or Saturday.

All of here want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers.

God bless,

Doug, Carol, Brian, Howard and Donna

Thanks for another update on Brian and may our Lord and Savior, Jesus, touch him and each of you with His healing, comfort and peace to give you His joy for strength to endure and overcome everything that Brian and you are going through! Love you all in Christ's sweet love! God Bless!
