Pray, Pray, Pray!
We spoke with the doctor tonight. We need our prayer warriors to focus on his lungs and brain. He needs the "rice crispies" to be gone before they can discover anything telling about his brain functions. Besides the collapsed lung, there are several little rips and tears that allow the oxygen to escape when the ventilator gives him a breath. The Dr said he would not be surprised if it takes a week for his lungs to be healthy enough to test the brain. We don't want to wait that long!
He is now being increased by .7*C per 4 hours, he is already at about 35*C which is about 95*F. If all goes well he will be warm by the morning.
There has been some EEG activity, which doesn't tell us much, but the Dr says he is fairly certain that Isaiah will not be "brain dead", but brain injury has a broad spectrum and there is no way to tell if he will be a vegetable or the same old Isaiah that we know and love.
As he warms up, he will continue to swell since the cells are a little injured. The nurse compared it to the swelling you would have when you get a sprained ankle.
Please continue to lift this little guy and his parents up in prayer, We really need it.
