Update on my Mother.

My sister called around 3 PM to say that the surgeon cannot operate. The cancer has spread to both of mom's lungs and her liver. He's giving her a couple of months to live and told her to cancel a cruise she had planned for July. She has 2 options: Chemo, which he said may not even do any good or extend her life and she'll be ill or Quality of Life where he'll make sure she doesn't have any pain and can stay at home. He wants to do surgery to place tubes in her kidneys to allow them to drain but her left kidney is going to fail regardless. He wants her to decide by tomorrow so he can move ahead with the plan.
I asked my sister to find out if mom wants me to come up to the hospital this weekend or wait until she comes home.

Thank you for your prayers. I believe that God is able to do anything at anytime.

It's really too bad that 2008 is starting out so glum for your family Don.:thumbdown: I just hope you spend as much time with your mother as you possibly can. Hopefully, she won't suffer with a lot of pain. Boy! This has gotten me down.:sadwalk: It's tough to even have the right words to say on something like this.:unsure: I just hope that everything turns out for the best DukeOBass. Take Care Buddy!
 
Spend quality time with your mother.I am so very sorry you, and she, must go through this very trying time.
 
My wifes mother,has just gone thru all this.And I am sorry to say,we are just waiting,for the inevitable.
Done the radiation and chemo.And all went down hill.after the chemo.Keep the faith and hope as anything can happen.Hope your mother does well and overcomes the odds.And if you can go see her.We went and seen my mother in law a month ago,before all the radiation and chemo.She wanted to see everybody,before all the treatments.They are in southern Arizona.We are in Colorado.Prayers go out to you and your mother...................Stan
 
My prayers are with you and your family Duke. We went through the same ordeal last spring with my mother.

Mom & I have great peace through this and believe that prayer can move the hand of God. That's why I asked.

I know your pain Duke, I went through the same thing with my grandma. She had cancer of the pancreas but was too far along for anything to work. She lasted about a year and a half and it is one of the worst things to deal with. I don't post alot but I do read everyones comments and I can say this really sucks!!! My thoughts are with you and your family in your time of need. God Bless you all!

Sorry, but I never had any kind of Surgery ever DukeOBass. Must be mistaken. I've never been hurt enough for such a thing and I hope it continues. Unless I got abducted by Aliens and don't remember due to the shock I was in.;) Anyways, I will send a prayer your mother's way. Take care DukeOBass! We are all Family Here.
