Update on our situation here with the electrical and fire department response...

Consumers Power was called by the Central Dispatch to come shut down the power...they never came.

Last night we did not hear back from the electrician so this morning aboujt 8 AM we called the number...as it was ringing we noticed the electrician's van sitting in our driveway and the guys getting out...now that is what I call SERVICE! Thank you God!

Several of our questions were answered...like why do we have power in one room when all the power is shut off by the fire department. Answer was - it wasn't all shut off as the fireman had thought. He didn't throw the master switch - just one marked 'House' - so we had internet access all night. We could have run an extension cord from that room into the living room and we'd have had the power we needed without running the generator all night. So we used some gas and made some noise...but again Thank God we learned a lot now instead of waiting til the dead of winter and not knowing these things...we can make adjustments for the future.

We had power back on in about an hours time...just as the generator ran out of its 2nd tank of gasoline the power was back on. Thank you again God!

The whole circuit breaker box was removed and a new on installed. Professionally done and definitely looks and feels safer than the other one we had before.

We didn't lose anything but maybe some peace and quiet, some money for the gasoline used in the generator and a bit of inconvienence. My neices learned a few things about being 'without' some convienences of life and learned they can flush a toilet with a jug of water instead of pushing a flush handle. Thank you again God for teaching us that being 'without' isn't all bad.

We really didn't lose anything and gained a lot. Still don't know much about the insurance as we have been playing cat and mouse all day long. I did get an 'apology for our loss' from one of the insurance people...I'm still trying to figure out what they think we lost???

The birds got a chance yesterday to be outside as Sherry and Gwen (her sister) took them out just in case as the firemen were arriving. Berk, our African Grey, as he saw about 6 firemen come around the corner of the house gave them a welcome "Hi Guys!".

We appreciate and thank you for your prayers. Most of all we thank God for His timing. Hsd this happened while we slept, the fumes might have killed us and if the situation was caught when it was all would have been lost - our pets, our possessions and possibly our lives. Thank you God. Thank you Jesus.
