Update on the old ring I found...

Turns out the unanimous opinion is that it is a fur trader ring from the 1700's or earlier!
It was a popular item to trade with the Indians back then. Usually had Jesuit designs or initials or hearts.
Just wanted to brag!

Wouldnt surprise me in your area, it could be some form of wampum since the indians had no need for money. Beads and such were the norm for trade and used as cash.
