updating V3

Howdy to all its been a while isn't I've been on here, Question I have a V3 - should I sent it in to have the updated added? Also has anyone used the V3 for prospecting - any tips Thanks
 
Everything about the upgrade makes cents and sense! I started with the Vision/V3 nearly 4 years ago and loved it, but the V3i upgrade gives you a better detector,if you can believe that. There is a tremendous amount of info on this forum pertaining to the V3i and with a bit of a search you will see all the reasons to upgrade.

I have prospected with both detectors--V3 and V3i. The upgrade gives you a quieter, smoother detector. The Ground balance is better all around so you can prospect more and fight the minerals less.
I have used the V's in some of the nastiest mineral conditions in the USA and had very little trouble balancing. You just have to follow the rules and monitor the ground, work slow and listen for subtle changes in your headphones. You will be rewarded!
