JM,
I guess no one can answer your question
Any answers would only come from 2 or 3 people, maybe.
I'd be interested in responses as well.
Tony.

There's developments going on all the time but often they can't be mentioned.
When you were on the Gower the other week if you had made it to next bay you would have seen the latest VLF wonder machine and its not much cop. Could be in the future though.
Whylie Fox hasn't had an answer as he didn't specify which Goldscan. As there is one on e-bay I assume its the Goldscan 4 which though not as easy or light as the modern P.I.'s has real depth, option of 11 or 8 inch coils, 3/4 inch ? probe, groundbalancing for land use, select 1 and select 2 modes which could allow some iron to be ignored (though at the cost of some modern coins).
Weight was over 7lbs though half of that would be on your hip.
Rainproof as well which is rather nice.

Brian ,just dont want to go out there next week and find some thing better is coming out, the following week, but thanks for your post ,ps going to the Gower late January , dont suppose you know the best week to suit the tides .

I've not got my new tide table yet but will pick one up and let you know.
Re new machines. I tested a couple of prototypes in the last couple of months and I would not touch them unless something radical happens. There seems to be a move towards more gimmicks in I.D. I just want stability, depth and ferrous discrimination. I have however splashed out on an XP Goldmax as I liked the Adventis. It should arrive soon. My machine of the year last year was the Goldquest SS and its my machine of the year this year as well. Good value for money to.
