Sorry guys but bare with me.... what does upgrading mean and when should you do it? Ive just bought a F75SE and am new to this???

We will go above and beyond to assist you in having a favorable and pleasant experience! But you gotta help! Where are you at in the world? Its not as easy as saying "try this" if we dont know the backstory! Go ahead and get as detailed as you want...none of us are gonna steal your spot if thats what you are worried about..we got more dirt ourselves than we know what to do with...!

Im in england. New to detecting after an outing with a friend ive caught the bug.
OK, England, good thats a start! What coil do you have on that new stick of yours? We would sure love to see you just knock the hell out of a Saxon Hoard in a hurry! Beginners Luck is on your side!....
Practice with the Factory settings out in your garden...find a tone selection that seem to make sense to YOU...All of our ears and CPU's process pings differently...Really though, you gotta get out and practice...with your mate hopefully, so he can show you how to run a coil and all...keep the info coming here, HT8th...the more you share, the better we can help!

Im using the F75 SPECIAL EDITION with the coil it come with. Yea a saxon or roman hoard would be good. I will post pictures of my finds. Really looking forward to using the machine for the first time -wasn't cheap either lol
Thats a high buck and very powerful rig! Thats why we are concerned for you and want you to meet with a pleasurable and profitable outcome! ...You are doing it right, you are asking for help here..nothing worse than to learn from your own mistakes when we have already had a go at that!
When I was new, people advised it takes time to learn the language, they are right of course...however, you can condense and compress the learning curve with your dedication to success and mastery of this tool...its a lot of dirt work, hopefully this morning we got you off on the right foot, now its all up to you for today....

Ahhh, dont worry about it, friend...plenty 'O loot found before the 'upgrade' as my F75 brothers can attest....This Sport is more about the 'Indian than the bow' anyway....lets just focus on getting you started out right...you got a wicked powerful rig!...I hope you gotta a good mate to sort of show you the basics, if you dont, well, we are here for you! Lets just take this one day at a time sweet Jesus!

Ok mate aslong as my f75se lasts. I assume upgrading is optional and that you don't have to if you don't want to. And I assume its the software although I would of thought the software on the machine should last the machines lifetime? Anyways cheers mud. Appreciate it mate : - )

The up grade is to help eliminate emi issues. If most of the places you hunt are far enough away from urban settings then most likely you won't see much benefit from the upgrade. Some prefer to not upgrade because they feel that they may lose depth but others prefer a quiet running machine.

She is referring to me.
I manage to stay helpful around here just enough so she hasn't started looking hard for a replacement...yet.
I think I am the best she will ever have, but what do I know?
When you already have a modern, sleek, powerful, top of the line unit with all the options no need to upgrade as far as I am concerned.
Wish that was me, but I seem to have a slight power to cloud women's minds so I will hang on as long as I can.

Whatta I know? I bow hunt with a 1964 fiberglass and wood recurve bow and shoot wood arrows that I make myself tipped with 1960 broadheads.

It's my understanding the Fisher will no longer upgrade the F75 Detectors. They offered the service for a few months but the upgrading ended at the end of March I think. Anyone wanting the upgraded version will have to buy the new F75LTD2 or find a used detector that has already been upgraded.

I shoot a Bear Super Kodiak #55 recurve I bought new for $80 back in '76 with my first money earned off of muskrat trapping!...Instinctive, light, and fast!...sort of how I run my detector...I bought a bunch of Port Orford cedar shaft blanks and made my own arrows as well back in the day...bought I believe were the first run of aluminum shafts way back too, cost me a fortune I remember! Most of them split themselves open in the cold winter just like a water pipe!! Damndest thing I'd ever seen!...My how times have changed!
I feel really safe with this bow..you understand I'm sure...I shoot lefthanded, and as you probably know, only 7 bows out of 100 are made for leftys...so a good one with no twisted limbs are hard to find....I had one made by Colt Firearms, also a Bear Grizzly, and a Magnum, etc...but I sold them all and kept what is my most treasured one, my first love, my Black Beauty instrument of Death to any and all fish, fowl, quadrupeds and a few bipedals if needbe!..
Biggest mistake in my life, (outside of marriage) was not plunking down cash for the limited series 1000 run Super Kodiak Takedown commemorative signed and numbered by Fred Bear!...Gold plated hardware even!..In a mahogany case!
Like in this detecting sport, its more about the 'Indian than the bow' they say....yeah, so I'm a believer in simple and fast, you can see I dont even use a rest..I just point and shoot....
Get to know your F75 'bow' there HT8th, it was designed, built, and tillered by a master, it will not let you down. all you gotta do is practice a bit and get it in field...way more deadly and a hell of a lot faster than a compound..
