I had my etrac stolen from a friends house. I left it there for him to borrow but went to get it back today and he asumed I took it that night. I am looking for records of my serial # but can't find it at this time. I am too freaked out. How do I retrieve this to fill out a police report? I have the oringial box. Will that have a serial #? I also sent in the warrenty card. Any help would be apriciated cause time is not on my side. I left it there 3 days ago. Thanx Metalmiester

Man that SUX!!! Did you register it online with minelab??? might want to try there.... best of luck buddy!!!!

The numbers on the box for "control unit" and "coil" are the serial numbers.

have your friend check with his friends first! try to get him to do a little sleuthing for you!
i would start there, and if you cannot locate the serial number of the unit, call minelab, and try to determine if they have it
they should have a data stream with the dealers shipping invoice with the pertinent data on it!..good luck!

I'm really sorry, I had my new Excal stolen from my house, in my sleep, the night before my birthday. If you have the box, your serial number and coil number should be on it as others have said. Usually, Minelab dealers will write down the serial number when they sell you your unit. You might want to get in touch with Minelab and let them know of your loss. If the machine ever goes in for anything, they might be able to hold it for you and get it back to you. Thats what I'm hoping for my stolen machine. Mine has been missing for over a year now and I have had no luck. Letting people on this forum know about your stolen machine is the best thing you can do, that way we can keep our eyes peeled for your unit if/when it comes up for sale. I wish you the best of luck in recovering your machine. Let us know where you live as this can narrow down the general area to look for if someone on here comes across it for sale. Good luck and I'm sorry this also happened to you. -Marc
