US Army ??

I was wondering if anyone might know what this is. I found it a while ago when detecting an old farm field. I know that it is Army but the Eagle looks like the one on some older pieces that I have seen. I put it next to the quarter for a size comparison. this is front and back views.

Danny is correct Delaware Bill. I found a whole bridle in a barn with the same Rosettes intact 30 years ago. The 13 stars inside the circle above the Eagle dates it after 1902. That particular eagle design was the 1902 "Great Seal of the U. S.". Great Find! Merry Christmas Everyone.
