Hi,
Just home from a break out in the country regions of South Australia.
Dry, very hot and dusty this time of year.
The heat mostly restricted my m.d. time to early mornings and late afternoons.
I came across a lawn area regularly mowed by the local council gardeners on the banks of a creek.
Higher above the lawn a bridge vehicle spanned the creek.
I was sticking the the shaded areas uner the trees as it was even warmer afternoon than usual .
My Xt70 had the 5x10" DD HF coil on and was in tracking, Sens.22, pattern 2.
I was picking up a few modern coins, an old pennyand a couple of bullett shells.
Then I got coin signal after signal x 60 or so. !!....man, was I busy.
All in a patch of around 3 square metres.
All shallow and easily flipped out with help from my Garrett Pro Pointer (I dont know how I would ever go without this now) and a screwdriver.
The result...lots of US coins....penny's, dimes, 10c and quarters
.....an1943 Australian half penny in great condition
......a Singapore 20c, a Polish coin, a New Zealand 5 cent
Unfortunately a few were dinged and chewed up by the mower, probably a big ride-on type.
I think maybe someone tossed them out of a car going over the bridge ?
Not sure if this is called a cache as they were spread over that small area.
Aussie gold prospectors call a patch a spot where a few nuggets are found together.
Anyway, I thought I'd share it with you, I had great fun finding them and have since cleaned them up a little more presentable.
Happy detecting to you all.
