Well boys, I finally made a calender centerfold! Yep, the above photo is the cover of Whites Electronics first ever metal detecting calender based on detecting finds or family detecting outings using Whites metal detectors. Click on photos to enlarge.

My detecting find of the tongue portion of rare Confederate two piece buckle debuts in the month of July. The June layout in the calendar features Ed's grandkids digging for pirate treasure.

Here is a photo of my rare Confederate buckle with a reproduction wreath part, until I find or buy an original wreath. It says in the calendar that the buckle is worth over $2000; through extensive research, I've found that this extremely rare buckle, if matched with an original wreath, is worth more like $10,000. I have seen high end Confederate dealers selling Confederate belt plates for up to $24,000. When they come to this rare artillery buckle, it is listed as "not for sale".

The calendar is also packed with other great finds from other detectorists.

The winner of this contest will receive a copy of the new Whites calendar. The contest is straight forward and simple; guess how many Civil War bullets are in this pile. The photo below shows the height of the pile. Now listen up... please put your guess in the subject box only. This makes it easy to keep track of and it allows other posters to see what number has been guessed, therefore eliminating duplicate guesses - And of course, losing your chance of winning the calendar as the first guess will be the only one counted. The person coming closest to the actual number of bullets either above or below the actual count, or precisely guessing the actual amount, will be the winner. Contest ends next Sat. the 15th at 6:00 PM EST. Good luck and thanks for participating.
