Actually there were a couple of firsts.

In three hours of rough water hunting using the Dual Field I found my first stainless ring and my first silver ring with a gold inlay (on bottom).

The markings inside are 14K and .925 and the makers mark is three rain clouds.

The gold inlay is a band that wraps across the top and is not inscribed.

The two junk earrings were in one scoop full of stones and sand.

Hunters need to check carefully the contents of their scoop or sifter so they don't dump out a ring dug up with a nail or bottle cap.

I had a scoop with a senior ring and a small gold band as a child might wear in it.

Also check the hole and the surrounding area, where you may have dumped scoops of sand etc especially, because I have followed hunters and found coins and rings they walked away from just clear of their diggins.

CJ

Hi CJ,
Did you find this material with your new Stohlquist suit on?

Best regards,
Steve

Thanks fellow hunters for your kind words!

Tomorrow AM I hope to give my new dry suit its maiden voyage.

This PM I spent a while "tuning it up" (trimmed the wrist seals so they aren't too tight and stretched the neck seal for the same reason) and tried on the wading shoes I plan to use over the booties and things look OK.

Working a while in deeper water (where waders fear to tread!) will be the real test of course.

Today started out as it often does with fairly calm seas, but then the wind started kicking up out of the south-west
and the waves started jumping.

That would be the best test, but I would prefer to take it easy the first time out.

I'll see if I can get some one with a wide angle lens to take a snap-shot so I can post it for all to envy!

Best to Ya all,

CJ
