Yesterday I went to one of the city's small parks and ended up wading through a sea of beer and soda cans. I found a couple of pennies but it was getting dark, so I figure I will go back this week sometime and try the Sniper instead. Today was completely different. I went to the center of town where the library is at one end of the lot and city hall is on the other end. Right about in the middle is a gazebo where every year in june we have what is called "Timber Days"..kind of a fair/parade thing with lots of vendors set up in this little area selling food and homemade crap. Anyways...I figured I'd start at the gazebo with the Sniper and work my way around it. Well..needless to say I spent the rest of the day digging coins from around this thing..so many that I had to take a break and walk the one block back to my house and rest a bit. I went back with my daughters and dug out nearly as much as the first round. Honestly I don't think anyone has ever MD'ed this place. No old coins yet..but I did find a '59 penny...which I was surprised to see that it was'nt a wheatie...what year did they stop making wheats? Anyhoo..I bet I dug up about eight bucks worth of coins today..and I have'nt even scratched the surface. Good times
....and I'm finding tons more dimes...which is the majority of the coins I found today...I bet I found around thirty dimes...five or six quarters..and twenty nickels...I lost count on the pennies.
Happy Hunting!
