55 Chevy with two on the floor and a built 283 under the hood, my first car!
I still own my only one of two new rides I ever bought in my life of 56 years, a 77 Chevy El Camino Classic that I drive everyday to and from work, just ask bubba when he gets back from philly, a car that has taken me across this great nation many times from coast to coast with 300,000 miles on it and pretty much covers your life span and most here!
I still own it and drive it, what say you you Ford guys, after 33 years she is still head and wheels above a Ford and that my friend is history which I still live today!!!!!!

I never mentioned "class", was just giving my nod to Ford for refusing the hand-out of taxpayers money. IMO they (taxpayers) should be holding stock of the company(s) who did, not the gov. We had no voice in them getting out money, yet the gov owns 60%? I don't see how that works (well, I DO....I just don't agree with it

)
I've owned GM all my life, from restoring oldies, to buying new work vehicles and everything in between. I'd owned a couple Fords and an old Mopar or 2 (fasted car I ever owned '69 Charger Daytona) when I was y.ounger, but I became a Chevy guy early in life. The only point I was making was never again....I don't support anyone who sticks their hand in my pockets without my permission, especially due to their own stupidity and greed.
My 1st car was a '53 Bel-Air, I've had (and restored) several Impalas, Bel-Airs, GTO, Lemans, Corvette, Trucks, Vans....all GM. They've lost my respect, and therefor my support. I can't see paying someone a profit by supporting them.....when they're using my money to begin with.....seems like double-dipping to me

Avery American Taxpayer should be given deep discounted pricing on new cars (and not the BS on-paper crap a salesman claims) since they already own 60% of the product anyway.
How many MILLIONS is it GM is prepping to spend on their new plant in MEXICO? 10% (reported, probably in actuality 15%+) unemployment in the US, and they're using tax dollars to build a plant in Mexico? You can support that all you like, and even approve it by continuing to buy their products.....to me, the best way to remove a leech is with salt, or the red-end of a lit cigarette....then the blood-sucking stops.
I currently live in (and was born & grew-up) in one of the largest GM towns there "was", Anderson Indiana. Most of the plants are gone. Matter of fact, as I set here in my bus typing, I am at the old Engineering Building (Plant Eighteen) for GM (my cousin bought it), the plants behind & across the street....gone, and Plant 20 recently sold. Seems to me that GM could have opened a plant here....hell they still own property, and give some jobs back to those here who they've packed-up and moved-out on (not to mention cutting pensions along the way)......then to slap the US in the face by giving jobs to those south of the border?
No sir, I'll NEVER own another set of keys that fit a GM.
Even the converted school bus I spent the majority of my weekends in growing up was a Chevy
