I heard a similar deal on the news last night! They say the demand has gone up? I don't believe this! Did we all of a sudden add millions of drivers since this time last year? Also many of us have cut down on going out to eat, and other trips because we can't afford to go anymore. Seems like the demand should be down?

Sounds just like my Senator's replies when I send letters or email him about something needing attention, Bill! Maybe they write up one letter and change it to the topic being discussed and then sign their name to it! They are trying to help they all say, but nothing really gets done, that I can see or hear about!

It's the clean air act and all about a green earth that is causing the high prices of gas and everything else! Our sewer bill has gone up in price several times, because of the U.S. forms and letters going out to them that they must do this or that! It is just a way for us to shell out more money to put a bandaid on the problems all around the world!

But read the Book of Revelation and you will find out that it will be so at the end of the age as we know it! Greediness years ago in not spending the money for new refineries and politicians voting against drilling in the sites whereoill is found that would help us and our economy! And they closed a lot of the American oil wells from producing! Now everyone is reaping what the leaders of all nations have sowed! But know that God is in control and it will be as He has prophysied it to be! We will all be okay when we keep leaning on and trusting in Jesus!

Just won't get all our wants met, as our Father in heaven meets our needs! We will survive by keeping the faith! Pray for the lost and those not living like they should for Christ, as they are the ones who will suffer and need mercy!

I had a brother that worked in the US oil fields for years.He told me that the wells they drilled were shut off and sealed after drilling.My guess is that the oil industry and our Gov want to save our home oil till after all the rest of the worlds supply is used up.The oil is here in the US,it's ,just not being put through the refineries.AND, the oil companies keep refinery production down to keep the prices up.My 2

I heard (rumors) that demand has gone up. It appears since our American dollar has fallen in value other countires currency is worth more. Since they can now buy more than they ever could before...they are buying cars and gas for them - places like China...the ones we helped get their economy growing now their money is worth more than ours.

Also heard we have about half the gas producing plants than we had just 10 years ago. Also heard we have more than enough oil in the ground to keep us going for another 100 years...so...why are we not using it and having more plants here producing gas?

Sounds like the same old run around.Wasn't it Thomas Jefferson that said the nation ought to have a revolution about every six years.He was talking about everyone grabbing a gun,he was talking about voting these people out of office.Thats what we need to do.Vote them all out of office,the good ones and the bad ones.Maybe the next bunch will have the citizens interest in mind instead of a bunch of lobbyist.

Off course demand has gone up.
How much fuel do you think is needed to carry on with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan??
I wonder how many billions of gallens of fuel are used?

What really gets to me is all this talk about global warming and emissions etc.
Just one bomb that is dropped.... I will never be able to produce that amount in my lifetime.
No one ever talks about this side of things.

Good points Gary. I still think the global warming thing was more someone's political campaign 'gimmick' that didn't have much basis in fact and then the media took it even further so it has become a greater 'issue' than it really is. I could be wrong - just my thoughts. We certainly do use a lot of fuel for military (and even just regular government) vehicles that tax payers foot the bill for.

I heard that in Saudi Arabia the price of gas is only 67 cents. Far cry wfrom what anyone else is paying for sure.

I figure anything a politician says now is already too late to do good and it is just rhetoric so they can get their names in the publics face to get re-elected.

When I worked for the government (janitor) there was 2 policies our boss told us to follow: When not working (cleaning), policy 1 was to HIDE. (Don't make yourself available to the public) and if policy 1 failed and we were found policy 2 took over. Policy 2 was LIE. That's our government in action.

Yes, Pete.....they hide and lie and as the Indians used to say or maybe still do is: White man speak with a forked tongue and you know who has the forked tongue....satan...the old sly evil one, who took over the serpent in the Garden of Eden.....Without the Ten Commandments in school now, the children aren't learning not to lie or bear false witness....because many gov't officials and parents do lie and so what children learn they do! Sad situation these days! If I lied or said anything bad, I either got scolded, spanked or my mouth washed out with soap! Sooooo Guess What..............I learned real fast what not to do! Teachers always said I was a good student and I was as I was too scared not to be!
