Donned my 7Mil 2-piece wet suit to see if I might be able to stay warm with the sun helping overcome the cold water. (Forgot to bring my thermometer, but air temps were 48 degrees with a strong north wind creating some real low chill factors and a good guess would put the water in the low 50s or high 40s!!)

The two piece suit covers the body core with 14Mil of neoprene leaving the arms and legs clad in 7Mil.

I wore a hooded nylon rain jacket as a wind breaker and water-proof gloves and was very comfortable except my feet which lasted for 21/2 hours and then I had to head home to a hot shower to thaw them out!!

Locally we are sanded in badly, but by wading out past the bouys 100' or so from the water's edge I was able to find an area where the sand wasn't too deep to find targets.

In the first hour I recovered the ring and thinking it a junker tossed it in with the clad that was starting to accumulate along with a pot pipe and the brass bowl from a crack pipe. (Cleaning the ring as I was preparing this post gave me a pleasant surprise!!)

Mr. Dual Field, Diablo and I recovered 44 targets during the short hunt and I'm happy with that!!

During "the season" this is only a few yards from where boats tie up at moorings provided by the local bar for them. Drug paraphenalia and super-powerful cigarette boats are a scary thought!

Gotta do something about keeping my feet warm and then scout that area some more!!
