Look closely and you'll see a tiny space between the stainless clamp and the tray that is the bottom of the feeder.

When I first put the clamp on there squirrels would search up and down for a way to get at the seeds with no luck and then jump down.

One found that by turning its head sideways it could snake its tongue into the tiny space and pull out the smaller seeds laying in there.

Now they are waiting in line!!

The next step in the game is to remove the clamp, place several wraps of sticky backed aluminum tape to cover the small gap and then put the stainless clamp back to help hold it in place.

insulate the feeder box and hook an electric fencer to the pole or the bush they climb on

Wayne I opted to close in the part where the little furry rat was getting seeds.

Besides, I don't want to scare the little buggers off too far, because we may have to eat them one day!

Of course, they will not be around after she finished with them.... But the birds are safe, they get the food and the squirrels.... well lets say that they cause no further problem :

One of my favorites Mikie!, but my wife and I have agreed to forgo pets at this part of our lives.

You're right about them keeping the squirrels away though.

I watched a JR chase one up a tree and out onto a limb once.

The dawg thought he was a Leopard and the bushy tail thought so too!
