No swells to speak of and in two hours or so the water will be low enough locally to hunt some of the spots I have located that look to be "possibles".
The only problem is that now and for the extended forcast the temperatures aren't going to get above freezing and the light north wind drops the wind chill into the mid-teens!!:cold::cold::cold:
Temps got into the 50s yesterday and the day before, but high winds:windy: had "The Sound" jumping with waves too large for this Old Hunter, not to mention I couldn't hear signals with all the noise!!
I did bundle up and walk from one end of the local beach to the other and back picking up any metal I could find which included one nasty looking fish hook and a jar lid with broken/jagged edged glass still attached!!

I got a good look at how the sand has migrated to uncover/cover parts of my hunting grounds so I now have a better idea of where I want to hunt next, if things would only warm up a bit!! (I'll hunt in 30F temps if the wind is calm and I prefer it to be sunny.)
Along the waters edge at low tide there are reference points such as the end of breakwaters and the drain pipe sluceway that enable me to determine how much sand has migrated into and out of various parts of the beach.

The ladder on the wooden sea wall, as I have posted before, will sometimes go from being totally exposed one day to being completly covered with sand the next day for a rise of 6' and more of the sands surface. (Astounding to me, the power of Old Ma Nature!!)

A couple of my references got ripped out during Sandy's pounding of the Connecticut shore.
So here I sit----wishing----,
CJ
