:usaflag:This is certainly off-subject, but I gotta say that Minnesota kids are weather-tough at a young age. I stood at the bus stop with my 5 year old this morning with a temperature of -27 F. Good thing the wind was'nt blowing...it would have been nearly unbearable. Stay warm my friends !

I guess that is pretty cold now that I think about it. Years ago, I had a scout troop at a KLONDIKE derby camp up near Park City. Slept outside at -25* F. Despite pre-camp meetings with the parents and kids as to the type of gear that was required to stay warm on a winter campout, two of the boys brought what I call slumber party sleeping bags for the trip, i.e. scooby doo sleeping bags. - They were COLD. :surrender: I brought 2 goose down bags rated to sub-zero temps, one inside the other and was quite comfy. Ended up loaning one bag to each kid so they wouldn't freeze to death and spent the night standing close to the campfire.

SLC is in the middle of a heat wave, it is 45* right now. Might just have to get the detector back out.

:usaflag:Yeah, I remember being in Boy Scouts and going on camping trips in january, and of course Klondike Derby. They would always tells us that the best way to keep warm in your sleeping bags was to wear nothing but your long underwear. I could never bring myself to do it, it was just too damn cold. I look back now and wonder why the hell I ever went camping in the middle of winter.

I cant count the various places i froze my tail off in the military. You know you are in trouble when your basic load included a parka with fur and a artic sleeping bag. Its a warm 4 degrees here today.... but at least the wind is slight. My temps are mild compare to you guys..... and im thinking of moving to sunny Fla permanently.... cause thats what us old people do. Just keep thinking global warming.

Hey guys, I just wanted to tell you guys that here in PHOENIX its in the mid 70s today and way down to a chilly mid to low 50s during the night I know its tough but I can take it. Right now its wounderful detecting weather if I can get around all the snowbirds in town. I feel for you guys in the snow and cold but your summertime detecting weather is just too darn hot here. The headphones slide off with the sweat and heat stroke is just around the corner. I'll try to post my good finds to give all the snowed in people hope for the comming summer.
