Some of you may already know this,so if you did move on to the next post lol. I'm posting this for those who don't. I have been dealing w my machine for about a yr. Chatter chatter chatter. I was hunting w a friend today and I was telling him about trying to be happy w my detector but it was hard w the noise. He ask what I had it set on I told him BP sens 78 disc14 2F. He said he was running his on JE sens90 disc10 2F. I told him there was no way I could run my sens on 90. So we swapped machines and I couldn't believe the difference. His was like a church mouse compared to mine. Anyway we swapped back and was standing there talking and I just happen to reach down and check where my coil screws into the head. It was loose. I turned it about 3 full turns. I am now hunting w a different machine. It's as quite as his was now. I can't believe I have been dealing w this for so long and it was something that minor. I know it's a rookie mistake but I don't care I just thought that my neglect might help somebody else that's dealing w the same thing that I was! I can't wait to get out there and hit it again. I found my first CW US buckle yesterday w that chattering machine. Now the possibilitys are endless lol!

Are you talking about the coil mounting screw and nut that mounts the coil to the lower stem being lose?
Or are you talking about something else?
If the coil is floppy then just snug it up, but I'm thinking it would have to be really dangling to be a noise problem.

Always check for coil wire issues.

One of the. Cool things about the XP Deus is that the coil has all the processing electronics, so the wireless signals to the control box and the headsets is digital, not amalog.

Wave of the future!

Cool that you found a solution. For long time I hunted with my F75 with iron notched in and didn't realize it since the settings stay the same. Post a pic of your buckle in the Civil War forum. That's a great find.

That does make for a problem and has been addressed on the forum a few times... Ya have to snug it up really good..

First you have to make sure it is pushed in as far as possible...then tighten.

No Mark I'm talking about where the end of the cable from the coil screws into the head/display unit.

I tried to post it on here but the file is too big. It wouldn't let me. I was pretty excited. I found it In Corinth Ms beside where the Corona Female College was located. It was burnt in 1864 by the Union army.

Okay, that makes sense now, LoL!

The coil's connector was lose where it connects to the control housing! I got it!

Its bad that you had the problem for that long, but, its really good that is was an easy fix once you found the problem. That's great!

Learning the hard way....it's the first thing you'll check from here on out.

 And check it every outing. They have a tendency to loosen up more then one would think. And, it happens with other models and brands, as well. Good you figured it out. HH jim tn
