Using food to fuel your cars....

Pete in MI

New member
not a wise thing to do. This generation finds it more important to drive than eat. I had heard that the price of milk had gone way up...around $4 a gallon now because somehow the cows that produce the milk need corn and that corn is being diverted to fuel for cars.

Children should have milk to drink before our cars have corn fuel.
We looked at cottage cheese last night and it was way up too. (Another dairy product). When one food item price goes up it seems they all go up. Our economy in Michigan has made a tail spin and just trying to feed the family and pay bills is beyond most and many have no jobs or ones that do not provide enough income for basics.

One of these days people will have to open their eyes and see beyond what is in front of them and see how things are related to each other. The domino effect is alive.

May God continue to meet the needs of His people and that more will come to Him...instead of resorting to 'doing whatever it takes' (stealing, killing, cheating, prostitution, etc.) to put food on the table.

OK getting off my soap box now. God bless us - one and all.

The rich get richer and the poor just keeps getting poorer. Us of course, being the Rich Ones. Thank you JESUS!!!!

at times it sure seems to be a sad world we live in.

because of the "corn" issue. I've heard of corn as being the new "gold standard".

It's not just milk. ALL DAIRY products will go up, from ice cream to butter. So will beef, pork, chicken (and eggs), grain-fed farm-raised fish, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of other food items go up, not because they are produced by animals that are fed corn, but because they contain corn syrup. Soda, candy, pastries, snack foods, etc. Read the ingredients on a lot of things, and see how prevalent corn syrup is.

I had a good talk with my Exec. Chef about this early this year at the restaurant I work in.
