V3i screw removal concern question?

Can someone tell me if it is okay to remove this screw to attach a stand? It will be immediately screwed back in. My concern is if i remove this screw and something comes loose inside the control box. Thanks.

There should be no issues with removing that screw, it's just holding the housing together. You may need a longer replacement tho depending in how thick the stand is. Either way, make sure the screw is snug when done. No one should operate a V3i with a loose screw......

Just not too long, use a screw longer by the thickness of the stand. Stainless ones are nice.

Thanks rob,, the stand is gonna be about 3/32 of an inch thick,,,,, So i think the original screw will work.. If not i'll make sure i get one that does,, thanks..

It does but i don't like it,, no good way to secure it ,,it's just to wobbly for me. going to fabricate one out of aluminum. Thanks

I HAVE A PVC STAND ALSO..I PUT CLEAR SILICONE ON MINE AND IT DOES NOT BUDGE..AND WHEN YOU TAKE IT OFF THE SILICONE COMES OFF EASY..NO STRAPS OR ANYTHING NEEDED..

There like 12$$ and work great. It's plastic comes in colors and attaches like a hand clamp. For glueing wood furniture. My Buddy Dean uses one and moves it from detector to detector. I'll try to get the info. HH tom
