for many people, hobbyists and avid detectorists alike. It gives us very good balance, it 'fits' in and around brush and trashier sites, and the in-the-field performance it very good. I like the 6" Concentric so well I have one for each of my Tesoro's! Of coursed I am a bit biased as I have favored 5" to 7" coils the bulk of the 51 years I have been detecting due to the fact I plant myself in some of the trashiest, most iron infested sites I can find.
