When I'm in disc mode I find that I don't need the pinpoint feature to locate my targets, just Xing works quite well. Is there any reason that I couldn't remove the red momontary push button and install a toggle switch so I can switch to all metal without thumbing the disc. Does the pinpoint button actually give you true all metal?
 
I would think the button locks the Detector into VCO mode, replaceing the momentary switch with a push button on/off switch would work too. I think...

If you do it voids the warranty. I replaced the button with a toggle switch and also ran my headphones plug thru the top of the shaft, and Tesoro won't touch it.
