I had a few minutes after a day on the phone and computer to run around the yard across the street. All the main homes in the neighborhood are mid to late 1800s. Some of the sites have been picked over some not at all. I took about 20 minutes and managed a couple of early memorials and a few chunks of iron. Then a solid hit but very tight together. At 6 inches in the sandy soil I found this 1883 Indian Head. Decent find since our house was built across the street that same year.

nice find!! an indian head was my first detector score.

I suppose that you have hunted your own yard and did you find any old coins? Nice IH BTW........congratz

Certainly my own yard has been hunted and frankly there are still a load of things yet to be unearthed..
