In other words I found a bunch of trash. The knife on the left has a laser on it. I found two wheat's: 1910,1941 and one 1908 IH. 1924 dime.

The IH is 1908 and could look better for that date. Coal was all around it and ate it up. Same for the 1910 wheat.

Super job John. Still hunting the tear downs? Been down for a week or so, had to get a tonsil out. Just getting back to snuff. Next time headed that way will PM you so maybe we can meet somewhere for a hunt. Have not had a chance to be out much this year and when i have pickings have been slim. Looking for some new areas now. Take care of those twins!!
 
A good collection of clad..To bad the I:H coin is in that bad of shape..The Merc looks great. :thumbup:

Interesting trash old bud. Love that Merc, my favorite dime. Wish to hell I could find a few but they are scarce as hens teeth around here.

Did you get any tones from the coal ? I've had a good bell tone on the detector and dug up some coal.I've tried hunting around areas with coal and find it can set the detector off if it's in the ground.

It hits on the dime or quarter notch. It has the sound of deep silver and it fools me a lot. It's everywhere here. :rant:

I would think your old farm has a lot of possibilities. Churches or friends houses in your old community are all good.

People have moved out of most of the houses. When they start demo-ing the houses it will get hot for old coins. I was digging memorials at 6" and not one wheat at an old house. The soil was soft and I know there are some old coins deep. When they take the top soil off I will be ready. Should be in September. I'll PM you.
 
Super, that sounds like fun. I was out about 15 minutes last night in the back yard testing out a new pin pointer I put together. I was using one of the little wizzards stud finders and it works fine for rimming plugs and holes but using it like a probe was impossible. So I did some work on it. Took it apart, remove the workings, cut the end where the sensor was. I needed a probe part so I could put the sensor in so i took the end off a empty liquid nail tube, cut the tube (too short by the way), cleaned it up and stretch the point to allow the sensor to fit into it. THen I put it back together and taped the new probe onto the main handle making sure i didn't cut or pinch any wires. I use hot glue gun to seal the end. I had found a couple of parks that allow hunting but no digging so i needed some practice. So out to the backyard last night with the 250, screwdriver, and the new manufactored pinpointer and dug a quarter, 2 pennies, aluminum nail, and peice of metal in those 15 minutes. I went again tonight to a local park and play ground and pulled another 20 coins or so in about an hour with it so i like it, just need to extend the length of it so i can get deeper. About half of those coins was in the wood chips but i still only used the screwdriver to dig. Most of what found was swallow as I didn't dig the real deep stuff. I was happy with it, just need to make it longer next time.
 
What is the distance from the target will it sense the object ,,your fabricated pin pointer.. Looks like you had a good hunt.
 
I air tested on coins from about 1 inch to 1.5 inches. The quarters, dimes, and pennies were about 1 inch, the nickel was 1.5 inches. Those little wizzards have a sensitivity setting on them and that is set at the strongest it can be without it sounding off. If i back it clear off, it then goes to about 1/2 inch or so on all coins. I just need to make the probe longer next time. This one i had used for about a year near and it was all beat up, tape together so if I messed it up, it was no big deal. I would just break out another one, I had gotten some more off ebay here not too long ago so i would good to go if i messed up.
