Vegas trip and visiting Doc

Came back home on the red-eye Friday night to a 5 degree Columbus, Ohio after spending 4 days in 70 degree Vegas. I could tell all, that trip was meant to be. With all the positive responses that others have mentioned about Doc, and his web sight offering to stop by if ever in Vegas, so I posted last week. Decided to head to Doc's place 2nd day into trip to relax after having to fill out a W-2 form for taxes after winning from The Mirage. Doc is truly a person who enjoys this hobby as much as a new guy like me. He made me feel more like a friend than a buying customer. I bought the Wot, rain cover, lower rod for my expII from him and ask to have them shipped. And as write this, I look down and see my new Wot coil, rod, and cover. Just as Doc promised. What a great experience with meeting and ordering from Doc. So thanks again Doc for all your help and service. It was a pleasure meeting you and for making this hobby more and more addicting. I now can say that I also recommend ordering from him. And I can say I finally was a lucky gambler in Vegas and to leave my pockets full.
Thanks for reading.
P.S Also hit smaller jackpot 3rd day there.

Dan it was a real pleasure meeting you and your XXL brother Bob !
I wish you could have stayed and visited longer but I know how you high rollers are !
I told you if you let me shio the coil it would beat you home !
I took it to the main post office that night and shipped it off.
As a general rule, you just can't beat Priority Mail !
Hope the shirts fit you and your incredible hulk brother. Glad you enjoyed yourself here in Las Vegas and glad to hear you went home a winner!
I'd apologize for how trashed the office looked, but it always looks that way. The amount of shipping and phones calls we handle every day doesn't leave much time for organizing.
Thanks again for stopping in! Come back again!

at that point he had hit a ROYAL FLUSH on a video poker machine.
Let's just say he didn't quit smiling the whole time he was there.
Hey Dan, I'm not sure about the tax law on this, but I know you can deduct losses against your winnings up to the amount of what you won. In other words if you win $100, (which isn't reportable anyway) if you lost $100 you could deduct that from your winnings at be at ZERO. If you lost anothjer $100 you could not deduct that from personal income. Only losses against winnings.
HOWEVER, being you had reportable winnings, can you deduct the expense of your trip to Las Vegas against the winnings ? You might want to ask your tax man so you can mitigate the taxes you will owe on your winnings.
Take care!

Well it started out the morning of waiting to get on the plane to Vegas. At Port Columbus , the fuel guy who fills up the plane under the wing, decided to unhook 1 of 2 hoses from plane. Then proceeds to drive tanker away from plane. Low and behold, the attached hose rips coupler from fuel tank on plane. That ends up 40 minute delay and nervous passengers. So like many of us decide at 8am. that it's a great time to start drinking and smoking at the nearest bar next to gate. My brother and I drink a couple and continue once on the plane along with our dad. Once at The Mirage, we continue get free drinks and smokes throughout the 1st gambling day. Bouncing around the casino floor for around 12 hours, playing, drinking, and smoking, I finally hit a nice one. Hitting, like Doc said, a royal flush on a $1 video poker machine. Adding the required max. bet of $5 to receive your best payout. Well I hit royal flush after being there maybe 10 minutes and $65 lighter. For the $4000 payout. Tipping my waitress and the money holders nicely after receiving the 40 Franklins , I ended up racking up more money on same machine which ended up covering my tips . Another 4 hours goes by and being up for 21 hours, I had to grab some sleep. Then 3rd day bouncing around looking for that one hot machine, ended up hitting a royal flush on a .25c machine, $1.25 max bet. For a cool $1000. Which was nice because I was close to my set amount to spend for that day. Then Friday and last day, went to the Players Club window to receive my comps and they gave me more free cash to play with. So once we checked out, the rooms, breakfasts, lunches and dinners were all free from the action on our comp cards, mostly all from old dad . So Friday's gambling was slow because I wanted to bring home some money. And from arriving to Vegas with only cash for the 1st day of gambling and expecting to withdraw more 1st day or 2nd day, I left Vegas with 40 Franklins still in pocket. And now it looks like my wife is already making reservation for Disney World this year. Of course she more excited over the money then my new Wot coil from Doc. Now I need my fix of detecting for real treasure in the ground. Thanks again Doc, and to all you other treasure hunters for this addicting hobby.
Dan
