Veteran's day at church.....

Paul(NWO)

We had the Pledge of Allegiance, singing and playing of patriotic songs and the special program with the veteran's pictures. The special program was to have the Battle Hymn of the Republic by the United States Army Band and Chorus. The software at church didn't match exactly with the one I had used to make it and it didn't play but the slide show part did work. When it first started you could have heard a pin drop on the carpet. The organist jumped up and played America the Beautiful. It all worked out because the pianist had chosen The Battle Hymn of the Republic as a special music program. I think everyone including the vets appreciated it. The was Pastor's message looked at the foundings of our country, the sins of this country and Christ's sacrifice of his life to set us free us from sin and to life with him him. Quite the day. Thanks to all the vets who post or visit here.

I am sure the program in honor of the vets was touching to those who served.

I salute the other veterans as well. Though I appreciate the thanks from those I know I am still a bitter veteran.

God bless the vets, past, present and future.

Sounds like it went well. Thanks for serving!

they played some video clip before church actually started and with everyone chatting few if any heard it. All I saw was the very end where Ronald Reagan said something to the effect...A nation under God who fails to remember God will be a nation undone.

No mention of 'is there any veterans here?' No thank you for service...nothing.

Our pastor had all vets stand, then there was a prayer for them and those serving now.
