VIDEO-A Little Bit of Silver for the Pocket

Gonehunting

Yesterday went to one of my hard hunted spots to see if I could find anything I missed. I put in the Deus Fast mode and switched it to 4 tones with high hitting 80 and up, 2nd tones breaking just below 58, and the 3rd in the 20's. I worked a sidewalk that had produced several turn of the century coins. First 62-63 signal was a 1943P war nickel.

I moved on down the side walk and got another 60ish number that kept repeating so I dug... It appears to be corroding so I didn't even look for any marks.

After finishing up the sidewalk I moved up into the yard and can't explain this one, but I got a 81-82 number.. I was thinking clad penny. It doesn't have a date, but that's a corroded buffalo nickel.

Next signal over was a compact lid.

It started getting dark so I moved around the side of the house and got a lower 80's signal. When I recovered it, I knew it wasn't a penny so I kind of got excited thinking token, possibly a coal token, cause I thought I saw the word Power... lol well it was a let down..lol
DKLBE.jpg

Don't know where I saw the word power but, I got a laugh out of it..
Today I went back to finish the yard, but noticed a neighbor out on his porch and asked and he granted permission. I was so excited that I flew through the rest of the yard. I dug a few rifle brass, and a curtain weight..
I went over to the new yard and talked with the landowners and started detecting.. First target was a 1945 wheat and it was shallow.. I thought oboy...
The first cool target was this.... I think its a Shriner's watch fob and chain.
xIOz9.jpg

It came in at a 88-89. When I dug it, it was laid stretched out in the ground and had to open the ground up the entire length of it.. I thought of how it probably looked laying in the grass when it was first lost..
My next two targets where wheats from the 20's

The next target got me excited.. Finally some silver... and the Deus's first SLQ

After recouping from finding some silver I moved to the next row and got a 90's signal and bam! A Merc...
z4Wia.jpg

I continued down that row and had a clear low 90's number... My heart almost stopped when I seen the date..lol O well...
pFmv0.jpg

It started getting dark and the skeeters were out.. I moved right up next to an old pecan tree and dug my last signal.. mid 90's

It was good to finally start finding silver again.. I'm heading back in the next few days hoping to at least find some older relics or even some tokens too... thanks for reading...

I went back today (3/29) and found a few more older coins... I hunted for about 2 hours till a little after dark.
I found several wheats,
a 1913

a 1919

a 1920

and this 1924 Buffalo Nickel
I did have a two coin hole. With a 1910 Wheat and a 1905 Indian Head.

I did get one more silver. This 1935 Merc..

I think I covered the yard really well, so next visit or two I will really slow down and start looking around where the Iron was really hitting hard and digging some lower tones to make sure it isn't masked coins... thanks for reading.
I did get this on film and on my next visit will get enough footage to put together another video.

Nice videos and thanks for sharing. Hey, what are you doing up so late? eheheh, it's morning here.

I like seeing the Deus being used for more contemporary coins as here in Europe 99% of the videos are for hammered stuff. I do find those too but they are often in terrible shape and I'd much rather find a 100 year old silver coin than a 500 year old "I can't make out what it says" copper one! Guess I'm taking a bit of the history for granted, but in the end, variety is nice.

I think I will eventually get a Deus to re-hunt those areas where the coins are being masked by iron that other machines won't get. On another forum it was shown that the Deus can hit coins right next to iron - not touching it but really close. No other machines could hit it (that includes the fastest American machines) in the test.

Good luck and keep up the videos, especially when you show the screen or sound.

Very successful hunt with some nice coins. Thanks for sharing your settings. Congrats.

I don't mean to take anything away from the Dues,But that is one heck of a site with all those coins that shallow. Have you hunted this yard before with other machines? Or is this virgin ground? Still a good hunt to show how the Xp-Dues can pick coins out of trash.

Some of his settings were right at the beginning of the thread. I'm sure he'll post the rest, when he reads the your question. Thanks for asking, I'm interested to.

I had someone else ask this, and this is what I sent them.. Hope it helps..The settings I have been using for coin hunting in town is. Deus fast with some mods...
Disc 12
sens 97
freq 17 or 11 depending on trashy it is.. If there is alot of small trash I go to 11.
Iron volume 2 or 3
reactivity 1 that makes it faster in the trash.
audio response at 4 sometimes 3 if the ground is hot. decreases depth though
no notch.
on the Disc in expert i use 4 tones, with Iron at 202 @12, 2nd tone at 404 @ 50(just below gold and nickels(62), 3rd tone at 81 just below lowest pennies(leaves out fatty indians, don't have them here so no need) 4th tone is 757 @ everything above 81 to catch all the pennies and up...

The first yard was hard hit,, where I found the buffalo, the war nickel, and gold pin, the second yard was new... Yeah most of the coins were shallow, but I have been finding shallower coins(under 6 inches) that the other machines have missed, but not many..thanks for the view and comments..
