Found an old Asahi Pentax photo copy stand advertised on Craig's List for $25 dollars. It was in poor condition, but I felt that it could be restored and put to use again. I used a 27" length of one inch PVC pipe for the main vertical pole, and some rifle stock "Tru-Oil" on the wood base. It took several hours of sanding and using a file on the PVC pipe to fit it into the base fitting and another two hours restoring the wood base. I decided to use a light weight Canon point and shoot camera when using the copy stand.
Below are a couple pictures of the restored copy stand, a picture of the older Canon camera being used on the copy stand, two test pictures and old necklaced used to test the copy stand. I used the camera in Auto Mode and timer set to ten seconds. This is just another example of my quest of operating on a budget, and I am satisfied with the results of restoring this old photo copy stand. Kelley (Texas)
