I know this detector is years old and i think one of the first PI hobby detectors, recently it has failed and we have traced the fault to a 22uf tantalum capacitor which has gone short circuit on what we think is the rear audio board, The 22uf Tant capacitor seems to be fed from either a small choke or low value resistor which has gone open circuit(this may be the supply to the audio pcb?). The markings on this choke or resistor cannot be read as the body has burnt, does anyone know if this is a choke or low value wirewound resistor? Replacing the capacitor and putting a link in place of the unidentified part brings the machine back to life, can anyone help?
Many thanks...
