Viper Trident

Aloha,
I am new to the whole metal detector hobby thing! I have wanted to get a detector for a long time and finally took the leap! I bought a viper land and water and beach detector on e-bay new and they said they upgraded it to the viper trident!!!!! thank you Lord!!! They just shipped it today so I am very excited to get it!!!! I am so happy to have found this forum not only are you detectors but best of all followers of our Lord Jesus Christ!!!!!!!
I already have a question for you, I wondered how important it is to get a carrying bag for my detector? Also I live in Hawaii so the I plan on snorkeling for treasures as the viper is for land or sea are there any must haves I need to know about? Thank you and God Bless ><>SUZ<><

Welcome to the forum....

I just returned from Oahu. Went over to see our son, stationed at Schoefield.

Don't know much about your detector but a carry bag is always nice to keep your machine in so it doesn't get banged up. I usually keep mine in a hard case if I'm doing any traveling. Be sure to rinse it well with fresh water after going into the salt with it. If it breaks down into seperate pieces, take them apart and rinse them also.

Good luck hunting, I didn't have time this trip but didn't see anyone out when I was near the beaches.

Glad to have ya here, you will learn quickly that we have a great family here. Be sure that your detector is completely waterproof. Some are only good to get wet, but not submerse. A good stainless or aluminum duckbill scoop is a must for water detectors. Detector case is not a must, but a good idea. We look forward to your great finds from down there! God bless!

Did a little searching on your model. If I have the right one, you could dive with yours. Couldn't really find much info on it, but I'm sure you'll have a good time learning it. If you need any personal instruction, there are quite a few people here who, no doubt, would gladly volunteer to go down there and help you out (especially during the winter ) So you know, every year someone hosts a CMD forum hunt

You will have to let us know how that detector does for you. One very important thing to note. Working in salt water you need to wash the detector off with fresh water as soon as possible after use and if it has an adjustable shaft take it apart and wash both good. Otherwise you will have some serious corrosion problems. Also when you get a sand scoop spend the extra bux for stainless steel if you can and you will probably not have to buy another one. Salt water will not bother stainless but I would wash it down with the detector anyway. Good luck.
