vista gold

Hi Pax. I went out today with my Bliss and my new Vista Gold ( got the Vista a few days ago) on a normaly difficult Beach. The first hours is was no good, Black sand and stones was a Big problem, I couldn't find the GB and I was close to use my Allways true partner the Blisstool. Then I tryed to GB the Vista with one of those small stones like hotrocks, which gave false signals, and BANG I found this thinny little spot where the GB toggle should Be. This GB method is similar to the ferrite method, just with this small Stone (hotrock) found at my beach. Here is the proof my friend snapped on his IPhone. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=Z6HpdaQEw3Y&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DZ6HpdaQEw3Y%26feature%3Dyoutu.be&gl=DK
The sand was deep frozen, and the coin was 12" down, so don't say that the Vista Gold isn't going deep...
But this day experience says to me, that the Vista Gold could be hard to GB in difficult soil / sand, If thats help you a little PAX.
The Vista is still new to me, so please take this as a small input.
Henrik.

Death ray, Does the vista gold have any problem ground balancing in your area? I am thinking of hot rocks in the Sierras.
Thanks.

According to the owners manual, you can GB to the hot rocks and knock them out.

I have never had a problem with any detector ground balancing as far as hot rocks go. I have only 15 hours and 3sites with the gold so far..I found thus far that the hotrocks (only encountered at one site) where easily identifiable. They gave a high tone, but was a little wierd and not really well defined. I figured out the strange signal after I dug one up. So kind of like other detectors give that telling 'boing' hit, the vista seems to have a signature to its signal too. Hope this helps and as I get more time on it, Ill post my finding.
