Can anyone help with setting machine up slightly confused re disc iron volume settings machine is giving a high(ish)tone bits it's iron .a new by with deeptech.cheers.

Hello there Viking,

Where is your Disc set and what size iron are you digging ?
Depending on the size of iron it will spit audio even with your iron audio is completely set to low and maybe give a clean tone from a certain sweep angles of the coil, have you used a Deeptech machine before ?

Thank you.

Thanks for replying it's set between 9and ten o clock and iron volume is at 12 o'clock .was digging 3inch square bit of iron but it gave a high not a low burr .any advice gratefully received .cheers sorry for delay

No am a newbie with deeptech .detecting 42 years using X terra 705 and xp Adventist 2 and now smart plus .very impressed.meant of course adventis.2.

Maybe raise your iron audio also really work them signals from all angles, like many machines you can get caught out by the odd bit of flat iron, let us know how you get on

Sometimes my Smart Plus will lock on to a large piece of iron and won't let it go. Sometimes you'll get a little chippy low tone mixed in with the high tone. Raising the coil off the ground 6 or 8 inches and still getting the high tone all but guarantees it's iron. I've got over 500 hours on my Smart Plus now. Sometimes you will dig iron unfortunately. But then again if you aren't digging some iron you aren't hunting hard enough. You'll get used to the iron with time.
